Wisconsin Winter Weather Predictions 2019-2020
Prepare for Milwaukee Winter Snowfall with Superior Outdoor Services
This winter has already been a strange one in Wisconsin, with early snowfall cutting fall short but warming up right after, so it’s no surprise Wisconsin residents are beginning to wonder about snowfall and cold weather temperatures. Will there be more snow than usual? Will there be another polar vortex event? Superior Outdoor Services has the answers to help our customers prepare. While there is no way to determine the exact average temperature or inches of snowfall, there are many Wisconsin weather predictions available to help us prepare for this winter.
What to Expect from Winter 2019-2020 in Wisconsin
The Farmer’s Almanac long-range forecast has predicted the winter of 2019-20 to have mild but fluctuating temperatures with a surprising amount of rainfall. In southeast Wisconsin, the heaviest snowfall will be in late December and late January.
The Climate Prediction Center shows similar predictions but believes Wisconsin weather will drop to below-average annual temperatures this season and will have above average rain & snowfall. Areas closer to Lake Michigan will likely have higher temperatures.
Another Polar Vortex?
Forecasters have noticed the weather patterns setting up in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, as well as the Arctic, are similar to the wintersof 2013-14, when the term "polar vortex" became part of Wisconsinites' vocabulary. Water temperatures this year are 2 to 2.5 degrees Celsius higher than average in the northeast Pacific Ocean, which is abnormally high and something that happened before the 2013-14 winter as well.
Why does that matter?
Between warmer water temperatures and a lack of sea ice off the coast of northern Alaska, air will rise into the atmosphere and collide with colder air creating high pressure in the upper atmosphere. This causes the jet stream to push into Alaska and siphon cold Arctic air down into Canada and the upper Midwest. The winter of 2013-2014 was brutal, and hopefully, we won't have to go through that again this year, but Superior Outdoors is standing by to help in any weather.
The Benefits of Scheduling Snow Removal Services Before Snowfall
The Old Farmer's Almanac claims an 80% accuracy rate, and last year it was correct 85%. That being said, when the weather does switch, it will often be fast, cold, and dangerous. It's crucial to be prepared for any type of weather. Waking up to a winter wonderland can quickly turn into a nightmare if you have to shovel your way out to get to work. Superior Outdoor provides snow plowing services for residential driveways so you can get ready in the morning without worrying about your driveway. Enjoy your coffee and start your day right while we keep your driveway clear.
If you own a business, you need reliable commercial snow removal from Superior Outdoor. We will clear out parking lots and sidewalks so your workday can continue without interruption from snow. We operate 24/7, removing the snow when it falls and not hours later. Our residential and commercial services can be arranged in advance, so you won’t get stranded when the weather forecast changes.
Stay Safe and Deice Your Sidewalks
Hidden ice under the snow can put customers and employees in danger. We provide ice control and salting to keep your outer areas safe and prevent falls.
Superior Outdoor also has snow relocation for commercial businesses with large parking lots. Normal plowing only moves snow to another part of your driveway or parking lot. You’ve probably seen huge mounds of snow taking up multiple parking spaces at retail centers, theaters, and schools. Our relocation service takes the snow away completely, freeing up space.
